Mayonnaise, Sugar, Ants

Part of a series of performances installed at several locations in Durham, NC, consisting of writing various words in ant bait (a combination of mayonnaise and sugar). At first the ants would be drawn to the word and consume it from the sides, then, they would cover their letters in their own bodies and become an embodiment of the phrase, before withdrawing again and leaving only a rough outline. “Radiant” is one of the phrases written by the spider Charlotte in E.B. White’s classic.
